The NSU Art Museum, located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, will be transformed into an interactive, experiential celebration venue. The Miriam and Bernard Peck Terrace, Christina, and Walter Griffith Breezeway, and the Norma and William Horvitz Auditorium will come alive with video and lighting projections, living murals, live electronic music, and instrumentation, virtual reality experiences, and unique catering and drink experiences. Expect the unexpected as we come together to celebrate design and architecture!

AIA Fort Lauderdale, a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects recognizes excellence in Architectural design by its Design Awards Program. These Awards are intended to promote public consciousness of the built environment through distinguished works of architecture by our local membership. Download the Entry Details to learn more.

MEET THE JURORS

Myron Mirgorodsky
Myron Mirgorodsky is a Design Director with Roger Ferris + Partners. Myron is integral to the firm’s planning strategies, design explorations, and development across a wide range of building typologies.
Myron’s work includes master planning and redevelopment projects as well as cultural, residential, commercial, hospitality, and retail properties. He has played a key role in the implementation of numerous award-winning public and private projects at Roger Ferris + Partners from inception to realization. Myron Mirgorodsky is a graduate of the Pratt Institute School of Architecture.

Kateri Stewart
Kateri Stewart is a licensed, NCARB-certified Architect (TX, NY), trained in the classical tradition at the University of Notre Dame (2007). She began her career at high-end residential firms in the northeast, with work ranging from Cape Cod beach homes to NYC penthouse renovations. During that time Kateri consistently sought out challenges, earning her architecture license at the age of 27 and managing her first project shortly thereafter. She has collaborated with some of the most renowned interior designers and talented contractors, learning from each along the way. After moving to the Bryan / College Station area of Texas in 2017, Kateri taught architectural design at Texas A&M University for three years. She opened her own firm, Kateri Stewart Architect, PLLC, in 2018 with a focus on residential design.

David Burke
David Burke Architects founder and Creative Director, David Burke, is a former Principal at Grimshaw who put down roots in the Hudson Valley in 2007 and has now decided to bring his practice here, too.
David understands the complexity and intensive coordination it takes to deliver large scale, high-performance projects. His experience, enthusiasm, and penchant for innovation has resulted in inspiring projects across a range of sectors.
David’s design sensibility has always reflected a clear practicality. Guided by a commitment to planning and structural rigor, David’s projects express a strong sense of architectural and structural legibility that celebrate the use of structural and mechanical engineering, building material, and architectural finish. The search to further the development of the industry has guided his work throughout his career.
David is a Registered Architect in the States of New York and Massachusetts, a LEED Accredited Professional and NCARB-certified. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects and actively contributes to academic programs and lectures nationwide.
